These web based programs were built to allow any rowing organization to build the structure and content they need to manage the entry and results information that is typically used during a regatta. It has been designed to allow for the building of multiple regattas under the same administrative account and gives the flexability to add and remove regattas with a small amount of effort.
When participants wish to view the regattas online, they will either go to your own homepage where you can place a link to the RMS pages or they can go directly to the RMS system and be presented with a list of current, active regattas. From the display of active regattas one can select the requested regatta to view it's information and to enter and update team information. Using this feature does not require the participants or teams to signup with an account at RMS.
The display for RMS is divided into two sections (frames). The section on the left
contains the links to each available page/service relative to the type of user.
The section on the right which takes most of the window and displays lists and entry forms
used by the regatta system. As you build more sections of the regatta the list on the
left (the menu selections) will change to allow access to each section.
If a regatta is selected from the Regatta List page, links to all the forms you have
created will be displayed on the menu on the left hand side of the screen. In addition,
other standard links will be displayed, giving teams access to your regatta information.
If you create a regatta (manage a regatta using the Regatta Management System), you must first sign-up and review the procedures for creating and maintaining regattas. You are then known as the 'administrator' of the regatta. You can also build a description list of events and update the database with event results.

Following is a list of each link that may appear on the left side menu list if one selects a regatta from the regattas listed.

When a regatta is selected (via Regattas link), the regatta id is displayed
here as an active link which points to the 'home' page you have created for the regatta.
**Packet**
This represents a section heading.

For each packet page you create there is a link displayed here.
**Inquires**
This represents a section heading.
Events
This link displays the events for the regatta. If heats are created, then they
would also show up on this list.
List Entries
This link displays the events for the regatta and the entries posted to date.
Teams
This link lists all the teams entered and allows for selecting each team's
subsequent entries. Very handy for those coaches...
Heat Sheets
Display heat sheets listing each event (both heats and final races).
Select
This link displays a list of events and allows selecting the event to view the results
of a specific race.
Results(all)
This link displays all the events and their associated results. It gets to be very
large if you have a lot of entries.
**Updates**
This represents a section heading.
Add Team
This link displays an entry form allowing each team to enter online into your regatta.
Edit Team+
This link displays a list of teams and when selected shows the team information.
Updates can be made to the team information, but only if the password is known.
Also, event entries are added here after viewing the team information.
If event entries need to be modified, links to each event entered is presented
at the bottom of the team information page.
Add Crew
This link allows for the adding of individual crew members to the database.
With crew members added, completing the event entry can be aided by the selection
of crew members from the list show. This list will be for all members of the same
team (Team Code).
This link allows participants to enter their individual names and allows others who wish to help with the regatta(s) to enter their individual names also. The names on this list can also be used when signing up for an event to quickly insert an entry into a particular event. Also, if entering into a Masters event, it is required in order to associate the entry with a specific rower.
List Crew
For all those who have added a crew (individual) name to the database, a list is
displayed allow for the selection of the name for editing. In order to view or
update the information the password created by the individual must be entered.
Resources are associated with your account and will be available for view across all regattas built under that account.
RMS
The RMS home (first) page for RMS will display the introduction page for the
Regatta Management System.
Regattas List
The Regattas page for RMS will display all current, active regattas that have
been developed by one or more rowing associations. The regattas will be listed in the date
order in which they will be held. This link will always be listed on all
pages displayed by either the administrator or participants.
The regatta will be displayed when the Open date for the regatta has passed.
The regatta will be removed (from viewing) when the Inactive date has passed.
While you are building the regatta information, you can view it on the web if your are the administrator of the regatta (the one who created the regatta).
Help
This page is displayed when the Help link is selected.
Administrator Menu Links
Your Regatta Code
For each regatta built there is a set of information that seems to be common. The first
link in the administrative page displays the specific information entered for a regatta.
This information can be updated and will be used to format the 'Welcome' page for
your regatta.
Fee Structures (for your regatta(s))
For each regatta you can create upto 99 different fee structures, however, most regattas
will only have a small number such as early entry fee, late fee and scratch fee. This
link will display the fee structures associated with the regatta and allow for new
entry of additional fee structures.
Special note: If you wish the accounting system to calculate the fee needed for
actual entries, be sure to use the "Fee Code" field in the fee structure and place
it in the event decsription.
Event Descriptions
This link will display all the events that you create for your regatta and any heats generated
by the RMS. From the list each event can be edited. Each new description
entered will cost a fee! See the fee structure (above) for details.
On the event description list is a link on the right side labeled 'F.L.S.'. This link will display a finish line sheet for each event! If no entries have been made, there will be blank lines displayed for each lane. If entries have been made and lane assignments have been posted, then the names entered will be displayed. There are nine (9) lanes listed but typically only six would be used, but the extra lanes are for the special races that can have just a few more boats (but only if it is safe and fair!!!).
Packet Items
This link allows you to create 'packet' items for your regatta. Your packet can contain
any number of 'pages' which can describe your regatta, list directions, provide
event schedules and entry forms, and present other information.
Create Heats
Once all entries have been received, this link will create heats for those events which
have more than seven (7) entries. This link will also assign random lane assignments for
all races (both heats and non-heated events based on the entries received).
This is a fee based activity with each original entry being
assessed an amount. See the fee structure (above) for details.
Create Bow#s
Creates sequential bow numbers for entries into head race. Use with caution since
and event selected will be updated with bow numbers (even non-head races).
Times
This link allows for the individual selection of each entry. When the entry is displayed,
the times for the entry and any other information for the entry can be changed.
Create Finals
After an event (heat) is completed, this link provides a means to calculate which boats
will go the finals and make those assignments.
Events by Athlete
List all resources (athletes) and what events they have entered. This can help determine
where there are some 'hot seat' issues or if an event needs to be located at
a different time.
Mailing List
This link presents mailing labels using the Resource table entries.
Email
Display resources for your regatta and send selected recipients a email note.
Copy Events
Copy the descriptions from one regatta to another when setting up your regattas.
Delete Entries
This link allows the administrator to delete any entry (it's really gone) from the
regatta.
Delete Team Contacts
This link allows the administrator to delete any team contact (it's also really gone)
from the regatta.
Delete Resources
This link allows the administrator to delete any resource (athletes, staff, sponsors...)
(it's also really gone) from the regatta.
Matrix
This link will display the number of entries you have had across all your regattas.
RMS

Admin
This link will display your administrative page containing your application information.
In addition, a list of your regattas will be displayed on the right side. Selecting
a regatta from the list will allow one to edit the regatta information using the
administrative features of the Regatta Management System.
Before leaving the internet browser, select the Logout link to close your session and remove your signon. If you close your browser window and/or leave the internet, your logon information will expire and you will need to logon to again gain administrative access.
Help
This page is displayed when the Help link is selected.
If you have questions about a specific regatta, please contact that regatta administration since we at RMS will not be able to answer any regatta specific questions.
